Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before joining our dolphin tours and ocean adventures in Pemuteran, North Bali.

What is the best time of the year to swim with dolphins?

There is no single "best" time of year to join our dolphin tours. We are fortunate to have dolphins in the area throughout the year, so every season offers fantastic opportunities.

Since every day on the ocean is different, we recommend choosing a date that best suits your travel plans.

How long does a typical dolphin tour last?

Our dolphin tours are flexible and largely depend on your preferences. You can enjoy the experience at your own pace, with a maximum tour duration of up to 4 hours.

Whether you prefer a shorter dolphin encounter or a longer time on the water, our captain will be happy to accommodate your wishes whenever possible.

Is the dolphin encounter ethical and animal-friendly?

Absolutely. Respect for marine wildlife is the foundation of everything we do.

We follow a strict "No-Chase" approach, meaning our captains position the boat carefully and allow the dolphins to approach naturally if they choose to.

We strictly follow responsible wildlife viewing guidelines to ensure the dolphins remain undisturbed and stress-free.

What species of dolphins will I see in Pemuteran?

Pemuteran is home to an impressive diversity of dolphin species. The most commonly encountered are Spinner Dolphins, Bottlenose Dolphins, Pantropical Spotted Dolphins, Fraser’s Dolphins, and Risso’s Dolphins.

On particularly lucky days, we may also encounter larger cetaceans such as Pilot Whales, Bryde’s Whales, or even Sperm Whales passing through the area.

Because these are wild animals in their natural habitat, every trip is unique and each sighting can be different.

Will I always be able to swim with dolphins?

Not always. We operate our tours ethically and never force interactions with wild dolphins. Every dolphin pod is unique, and different species can display very different behaviors and personalities.

Swimming opportunities depend on the dolphins' willingness to interact, as well as sea and weather conditions. Strong winds, rough seas, or poor visibility can make entering the water unsafe or reduce the chances of a successful interaction.

The welfare of the dolphins and the safety of our guests will always come first. While swimming with dolphins is often possible, it can never be guaranteed.

Do I need to know how to swim?

Basic swimming and snorkeling skills are recommended, but they are not absolutely necessary.

Although we refer to it as a "swim," guests are gently towed while holding onto a rope and generally do not need to actively swim.

The most important thing is that you feel comfortable in the water and are open to trying something new. Our experienced team will be there to guide and assist you throughout the experience.

Do you always see dolphins?

Because dolphins are wild animals, we can never guarantee sightings. However, it is extremely rare for us not to encounter them during our tours.

In most cases, guests enjoy excellent dolphin sightings. Only occasionally, when strong winds or rough sea conditions affect visibility and dolphin activity, can spotting them become more challenging.

Fortunately, such conditions are uncommon, and sightings are usually very successful.

Does the tour ever get cancelled? How can I maximise my chances of doing the swim?

As our tours take place in the open ocean, weather and sea conditions play an important role. For the safety of our guests and crew, tours may be cancelled if conditions become too rough.

We always try to provide as much notice as possible, although ocean conditions can sometimes change quickly.

If you are staying in the area for several days, we recommend booking early in your trip so you have flexibility to reschedule if needed.

Fortunately, there are many other wonderful activities to enjoy in the area as well.

Can children join the tour?

Absolutely. Our tours are family-friendly, and we provide life jackets suitable for children.

Kids as young as 3 years old are welcome to join when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Do I need to bring my own snorkeling gear?

No. We provide high-quality, sanitized snorkeling equipment, including masks, fins, and life jackets.

However, you are welcome to bring your own gear if you prefer.

What should I wear and bring?

We recommend wearing swimwear or comfortable quick-dry clothing.

Please bring a towel, eco-friendly sunscreen, a hat, and a camera if you would like to capture the experience.

A light jacket is also a good idea, as mornings on the water can be cool and breezy.

Can I take my camera in the water?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your camera into the water.

We recommend securing it with a wrist strap or lanyard to prevent accidental drops.

For safety reasons, long selfie sticks are not permitted.

Is breakfast included in the packages?

Our tours include a light breakfast featuring coffee, tea, and local Balinese snacks or fresh tropical fruit.

Please check your selected package for specific inclusions.

How do I pay for my booking?

Payment is made directly to the boat captain after your tour has been completed.

Cash payment is preferred whenever possible, as it is the quickest and most convenient option.

We also accept bank transfers to a BRI account for your convenience.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations are free of charge, provided that you notify us at least 24 hours before your scheduled tour departure.

We appreciate advance notice whenever possible, as it helps us manage availability and accommodate other guests.
